Vexilar Double Vision System
Minneapolis, MN. Vexilar, the world leader in three-color flasher sonar technology introduced their first underwater camera system the “Fish Scout” series for the winter of 2010, and also created a sonar/camera system called the “Double Vision” which is an all in one sonar and camera system that can be purchased this season only at Gander Mountain Stores directly.
“We were very excited to introduce a Vexilar sonar and camera system to the market, stated Corey Studer, Director of Team Vexilar. “Vexilar sells serious ice fishing sonar systems, by far the best in the world, and we needed to develop our own, world class underwater camera system to complement our legendary sonar systems. We are VERY proud to introduce the first combo unit that will consist of the popular FL20 and the Fish Scout 7” Widescreen color Monitor and underwater camera. The blending of sonar and camera technology is a major step forward for the serious ice angler, since the weight is greatly reduced, and the entire system can run continuously for over 12 hours on a single battery.”
The Fish Scout Camera system uses a proprietary sun filter that allows anglers to use the camera even in bright sunlight. The wide-screen display allows you to see 20% more than traditional monitors, but the real breakthrough is the system can run almost five times longer than previous camera only systems.
The color camera found in the Double Vision system is a Sony camera, but mounted in a very specialized designed housing to absorb impact, and still remain water tight. The camera delivers a high definition display in vivid color when light conditions permit, but automatically switches to black and white when in low light conditions, so the angler can see in almost complete darkness.
The Double Vision systems are also available in an option without sonar, to accommodate the nearly one million anglers who own Vexilar systems now. This version is available for sale ONLY at Gander Mountain retail locations. Gander Mountain will be the exclusive retailer for this product the remainder of the 2010/11 season.
